About the First-Year Program
We offer two essential parts of the Liberal Studies Core that all students pursuing a degree at DePaul must take: the Chicago Quarter and Focal Point Seminar.
Course topics range from anything about Chicago to popular culture, literature, film, and more. Choose from courses about the Chicago Cubs, Harry Potter, Devil in the White City, Chicago's architecture, and much more. Keep an eye out for what is offered each quarter!
Events
The First-Year Program hosts events for faculty that teach in the program, including the annual Chicago Quarter Best Practices Conference, Focal Point Seminar Best Practices Conference, quarterly Faculty Chats and more!
