Transfer Honors Admission

Before applying to Transfer Honors, review the Transfer Honors Curriculum. Please note that not all transfer students are eligible for Transfer Honors due to incompatible requirements in certain majors and colleges.

If, after reviewing the eligibility guidelines, you determine that Transfer Honors is a good fit for you, apply after you have been accepted to DePaul University.

Transfer Honors Admission Criteria

To apply to Transfer Honors, you must have a cumulative college GPA of 3.5 at the time of application.

The DePaul University Honors Program practices a holistic admissions strategy; while we consider GPA, class rank, submitted test scores, and writing samples, the most important quality in a DePaul Honors student is a demonstrated passion for learning and a proven commitment to community involvement.

Honors classes are taught as in-person seminars, most of which take place on the Lincoln Park campus; thus, students who are in fully online degree programs are not eligible to participate in the Transfer Honors Program.

The DePaul University Transfer Honors Program application is open and accepting applicants. You must be accepted to DePaul University before you can apply for the University Transfer Honors Program. You are encouraged to apply to Transfer Honors within two weeks of receiving your acceptance to DePaul University. Space in the program is limited.

Application Deadlines for Transfer Students:

Transfer students admitted for Winter Quarter 2025 must apply to Honors by November 1.

Transfer students admitted for Autumn Quarter 2025 must apply to Honors by June 1.

As space in the Honors Program is limited, we encourage students to apply within two weeks of being accepted to DePaul.

Students who submit their Honors application by the final deadline will receive a decision letter within two weeks of applying.
