​Are you interested in challenging yourself?  Consider applying to the University Honors Program after you have been accepted to DePaul University.​

If you are looking for the personalized academic experience of a small liberal arts college combined with the resources and opportunities of a large urban university, then the DePaul Honors Program might be for you.

The Honors Program brings together students from across the country in an interdisciplinary curriculum that integrates a well-designed liberal arts education with the cultural resources of a world-class city. Working in small seminars under the direction of dedicated faculty, Honors students join a lively and challenging scholarly community.​

We encourage any student with a strong commitment to academic study, a passion for intellectual exploration, and an intrinsic appreciation of learning to consider applying to the Honors Program. ​

We are looking for passionate students who are eager to grow as writers, readers, researchers, and thinkers; who are excited about working closely with faculty; and who are ready to contribute to the Honors community, both in the classroom and beyond.​ ​​

The DePaul University Honors Program application is open and accepting applicants for Fall 2026. You must be accepted to DePaul University before you can apply for the University Honors Program. You are encouraged to apply to Honors within two weeks of receiving your acceptance to DePaul University. Space in the program is limited. ​

 

Application Deadlines for Freshmen Starting at DePaul in Fall 2026:  

February 1 - Priority Deadline

March 30 - Final Deadline

April 15 – Final deadline for Music and Theatre students  ​

As space in the Honors Program is limited, we encourage students to apply within two weeks of being admitted to DePaul.

Students who submit their Honors application by the priority deadline will receive a decision letter within two weeks of applying. Students who submit their application by the final deadline will receive a decision letter by late April. 

 

Application Deadlines for Transfer Students:   

Transfer students admitted for Winter Quarter 2026 must apply to Honors by November 1.

Transfer students admitted for Autumn Quarter 2026 must apply to Honors by June 1.

As space in the Transfer Honors Program is limited, we encourage students to apply within two weeks of being admitted to DePaul. 

Students who submit their Transfer Honors application by the final deadline will receive a decision letter within two weeks of applying.

​If you are a current freshman in your first quarter at DePaul and would like to be considered for the University Honors Program, please email us at honorsprogram@depaul.edu​​ to request information on how to apply. ​

​​
Honors classes are taught as in-person seminars, most of which take place on the Lincoln Park campus; thus, students who are in fully online degree programs are not eligible to participate in the Honors Program or the Transfer Honors Program.​
