    The Department of Latin American and Latino Studies (LALS) at DePaul University seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Latin American and Latino Studies to start in Fall 2023.

    Applicants should be prepared to teach courses in their area of specialization, core and elective Latin American and Latino Studies courses, as well as core liberal arts courses, including a first-year seminar and/or an interdisciplinary sophomore seminar on multiculturalism in the U.S. Since DePaul is on the quarter system, the position entails teaching two courses per quarter (six courses) each academic year, as well as participate in the department’s meetings and activities organized by the unit.

    Responsibilities

    The School of Cinematic Arts at DePaul University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Production Design. The responsibilities of this position will require teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in production design for film and television. The successful candidate will be instrumental in helping SCA strengthen its Production Design concentration, including exploring new ways to collaborate and coordinate with the Scene Design program in DePaul's Theater School. 

     

    The ability to teach other courses in film and television production is also desired.

    DePaul University is located in the heart of Chicago's vibrant Loop and Lincoln Park communities. In 2022, the School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) was ranked 15th in Hollywood Reporter’s annual list of the top film schools in the country and named by Variety as one of the top film schools in the world.  

    In SCA, there are currently over 1,900 majors enrolled in the BA, BFA, BS, MS and MFA degree programs. The MFA degrees are in Film and Television Directing, Screenwriting, Creative Producing, Documentary and Animation. Production resources include four full sound stages at Cinespace Studios, two green screen stages, production studios for motion capture, television, and sound, industry standard camera packages, and a 4k digital cinema theatre.

    Position begins in Fall Quarter 2023-24 (September 2023). Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

    Responsibilities

    Job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate screenwriting and television writing classes, committee service at the school, college, and university level, supervising student projects, advising, and continued creative activities and/or scholarship in the field.
