Writing is an important part of all Liberal Studies Program courses. It helps to promote the learning outcomes of the program by structuring opportunities for students to reflect on the ideas, practices, texts (broadly defined), and other experiences associated with the course. Writing creates a structure by which students learn to construct arguments and to use evidence appropriate to the discipline(s) represented in the course. The following documents have been created to aid faculty as they consider the importance of writing in their courses and in the program at large.
