Josephine Roth - Budapest, Hungary - Fall 2016
I chose to spend the semester in Budapest, Hungary because frankly I didn't know much about it. I also wanted to experience a culture completely different from my own as well as be able to travel to different countries around Europe. Budapest is a vibrant city full of interesting history and beautiful architecture. I absolutely loved living here and I feel like I really understand the city after 4 months. I lived in the dorms near campus and was able to take business classes for my major, which was so great. All of my classes were taught in English but were still so international, containing students from all over the world. I made so many new amazing friends. In terms of traveling, I'm so lucky in that I was able to visit over 7 cities on the weekends. Those cities included: Vienna, Austria; Paris, France; Prague, Czech Republic; Eger, Hungary; Krakow, Poland; Milan, Italy; Venice, Italy; Verona, Italy; London, England; and Munich, Germany! Thanks to RyanAir, I was able to take these trips on a budget and still spend enough time there. To anyone considering studying in Budapest, all I have to say is definitely do it! Budapest is such an underrated city- it's affordable, beautiful and full of culture. This semester has been the adventure of a lifetime.
