Hope Rozeveld - Paris, Spring 2018
Last spring, during my freshman year spring break, I decided to take advantage of DePaul’s first year study abroad program, which took me to the city I had always dreamed of visiting: Paris! As a French minor, it was incredible to have an opportunity to practice the language, and I could sense an improvement in my fluency just in that short week. We saw all the touristy sites (the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, etc.) but we also got to immerse ourselves in the local culture by staying in a less touristy neighborhood and eating out at places locals frequent. This trip gave me a serious case of the travel bug, and also introduced me to some of my best friends today. I know Paris is somewhere I will return to again and again!
