    The Department of History of Art and Architecture at DePaul University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Asian Art History to begin Autumn Quarter 2022.  All periods, media, and geographies within Asia will be considered, including less well-studied areas of inquiry.

    DePaul University operates on a quarterly schedule with a 2-2-2 teaching load.  The candidate will be expected to teach an introductory Asian art course as well as a course on Buddhist art.  The candidate will also be expected to develop other courses that will expand the department’s offerings in the religious dimension of DePaul’s general education curriculum, in consultation with the departments of Religious Studies, Global Asian Studies, Chinese Studies, and/or Japanese Studies, with whom such courses will be appropriately cross listed.  The candidate will be housed in History of Art and Architecture, including with respect to teaching, service, and tenure and promotion.  The candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda and contribute to the service needs of the department and university.

    The Department of History of Art and Architecture is an undergraduate global art history program currently comprised of 7 full-time faculty members with specialists in African, Islamic, Byzantine, Medieval European, Latin American, American, and Feminist art.  In addition to the major and minor in History of Art and Architecture, the department participates in an Architecture & Urbanism minor jointly with the Geography Department, and in a Museum Studies minor with the departments of History and Anthropology.

    DePaul University invites applications for an Urban-Focused Ecologist to begin in autumn 2022. This tenure-track Assistant Professor would join DePaul’s thriving Environmental Science and Studies (ENV) department (https://env.depaul.edu).

    We invite applicants whose research is in urban-focused ecology, although we are open to interdisciplinary teacher-scholars whose background or specialty might include social-ecological systems/coupled human-natural systems, landscape ecology, restoration ecology, or the study of ecosystem processes modified by urban development.

    The successful candidate would teach 6 courses per year (each lecture period counts for 1 course and each lab section for 0.5 course), typically 2 courses per each of three academic quarters (Sept-June) with about 5 weeks of winter break. The 10-week quarter system provides curricular flexibility and makes course delivery more nimble. ENV courses taught would depend on the new faculty member’s expertise and interest, but would include topics related to data analysis and statistics. This tenure-track position is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a commitment to undergraduate education. Additionally, community partnerships can be developed using Chicago as a classroom for social justice and equity-based research. We have long-standing collaborations in teaching and research with The Field Museum, the Morton Arboretum, and the Urban Wildlife Institute at the Lincoln Park Zoo.

    The successful candidate will have a strong record of teaching and scholarship. Most of all, the successful candidate will be committed to helping a diverse population of students to succeed in undergraduate research and course learning, regardless of gender, ethnicity, and STEM preparation. The candidate would also advise graduate students in our M.S. program.

    About the Department, College, and University:

    The ENV department currently serves over 120 undergraduate students in two majors: Environmental Science (B.S.) and Environmental Studies (B.A.). The department also offers a M.S. in Environmental Science that serves approximately 25 students. ENV has seven full-time faculty, a department administrator and a laboratorian. ENV faculty are actively engaged in research and teach a diverse student population.

    Although our ENV department prides itself on its small-community feel, the College of Science and Health (CSH) and DePaul University offer big-university resources and amenities. CSH houses 10 departments in ENV-related disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, and Health Sciences, with nearly 2,400 undergraduate students and 900 graduate students in 20 master’s and doctoral programs. CSH facilities include greenhouses, vans for field work and field trips, laboratory spaces, a flame atomic absorption spectrometer (FL-AAS), ion chromatograph, a STEM center, and internal funding opportunities for faculty and student research.     DePaul University Speech Language Pathology Program invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor to begin January 1, 2022. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and energetic leader, who has the vision to create a meaningful impact on the college, university and community, to collaborate with the program director and faculty in developing our new program at DePaul.

    Responsibilities include developing and implementing innovative clinical models; clinical supervision; assuring accreditation standards related to clinical experiences are met; teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; and service to the department and university. The successful candidate must possess demonstrated experience and expertise in clinical education. This is a 12-month appointment.  Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
